Our pack
sponsors a Pinewood Derby in January. This is where a boy makes his own
small car from a block of wood and paints it and then we race them on a
Saturday morning. We typically provide a “workshop” for parents to help
with any tools needed to cut out their car. No woodworking skills are
needed. Sometimes a boy just assembles the block of wood and paints.
We provide trophies and everyone gets a certificate. (Please click
the link above to see the rules for pinewood derby.)

Camping

|
Our pack organizes a fall and spring campout each year. We try to
rotate to different state or federal
parks that are within a 2 hour
drive each time. We typically pick a theme and focus activities around
the theme. In the past we have themes like Knights, Robin Hood, Indians,
Pirates etc. There are usually a combination of pack and den activities
during the day. (Please click the link above to see the supplies
for camping.) |

Blue & Gold Banquet |

|
|
In
February of each year, our pack has a large banquet called the Blue and
Gold. Typically we hold the Banquet on a Saturday evening with a dinner
and the awards ceremony. Most dens try to get their scouts to the “rank
award” for the Blue and Gold. Not every boy can do all the work in that
short time, but we try. In addition, we have a very special and moving
ceremony for the Webelos II called ”crossing over” to Boy Scouts. Even
though the night is focused on the Webelos, the younger boys really are
mesmerized by the ceremony and can’t wait till they are that age.
